On the edge of the Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval and Passy nature reserves, Flaine hides a treasure trove of flora and fauna: ibex, marmots, jackdaws, bluebells, wild rhododendrons, génépi... Explore 150 kilometres of signposted paths starting from the resort, the top of the Grandes Platières cable car, or Lake Vernant. Hiking enthusiasts couldn’t be better catered to, from family walks (Flaine Lake, 1 hour), to more demanding hikes (Tête du Colonney, 6 hours).

From 2nd July to 28th August, 2022, from 9.00am to 5.15pm (opening 7/7). In the event of bad weather, the cable car will be closed for the day.

Useful recommendation: at this altitude, it’s wise to bring a warm jacket with you. Make sure your wear walking boots or shoes to avoid any falls or accidents.
