Winter sports in Flaine's nordic area

Col de Pierre Carrée

Enjoy some après-ski time at the Col de Pierre Carrée.

Winter sports holidays are also synonymous with calm and serenity. Flaine is a place of discovery of rare beauty. Take advantage of your days or moments in après-ski to enjoy exotic sports and activities. At 1,844 m above sea level, overlooking the Arve valley and the resort of Flaine, the Col de Pierre Carrée offers the highest and snowiest Nordic area in the Alps.

Little tips: The Nordic area is accessible from the resort by free shuttles. They run all day between Flaine Forêt, the hamlet of Flaine and the Col de Pierre Carrée site.

Cross-country Skiing

Whilst it originated in Scandinavian countries, cross-country skiing can be enjoyed by all ages and all levels, whether you want to take it easy or notch up the miles. Flaine’s Nordic ski area is the perfect setting for this sport, with a 2.5km marked blue trail welcoming both skating and classic style cross-country skiers.

Switch off and enjoy a total change of scenery!

Trail running on snow

If you like to run and fancy a new challenge, why not give the «all terrain» version a go this winter? A combination of running, discovery and adventure, trail running on snow is just the thing for you! Enjoy the peace and quiet, feel the snow crunch beneath your running shoes, discover magnificent snow-capped landscapes… Col de Pierre Carrée is the perfect location for this trail blazing sport.

Find all the trails in Flaine and share a race experience, out of the ordinary.

Sled dogs

Do you like nature, sliding and contact with animals? Live a moment of complicity with sled dogs! No need to go to Canada to get a glimpse of this universe: in Haute-Savoie, supervised by professional mushers, you can learn to drive a dog sled, or, seated comfortably, let yourself be guided through the snowy paths (at from 3 years).
