Winter sports holidays are also synonymous with calm and serenity. Flaine is a place of discovery of rare beauty. At 1,844 m above sea level, overlooking the Arve valley and the resort of Flaine, the Col de Pierre Carrée offers the highest and snowiest Nordic area in the Alps.

 

Little tips: The Nordic area is accessible from the resort by free shuttles. They run all day between Flaine Forêt, the hamlet of Flaine and the Col de Pierre Carrée site.

Cross-country Skiing

Whilst it originated in Scandinavian countries, cross-country skiing can be enjoyed by all ages and all levels, whether you want to take it easy or notch up the miles. With its Nordic area, Flaine offers an idyllic setting for this sport. There are green, blue and red runs for skating and classic style cross-country skiers. Snowshoeing & marked paths

Accessible to all, the marked and maintained paths at the Col de Pierre Carrée are perfect for snowshoeing (subject to weather conditions). Set off to discover snowy landscapes and soak up the unspoilt views of Flaine and the Arve Valley.

If you’d feel happier going with a professional, we’ve got that covered – there are a number of group snowshoe sessions organised to take you off the beaten track.

Get ready for a fun experience on a fun marked sledging areas, in an unspoilt natural setting. Enjoy precious family time and plenty of laughter!

Learn to let go, to connect your body to your mind, enjoying a walk in a natural environment. Go to the Col de Pierre Carrée to reproduce the postures and breaths indicated throughout the course.

Do you like nature, sliding and contact with animals? Live a moment of complicity with sled dogs! No need to go to Canada to get a glimpse of this universe: in Haute-Savoie, supervised by professional mushers, you can learn to drive a dog sled, or, seated comfortably, let yourself be guided through the snowy paths (at from 3 years).
