This academy aims to promote high-level musical education.
Under the direction of Bruno Latouche (former deputy director of the Bains de Musique) and José Alvarez (artistic director, violin teacher). President Michel Decoust (composer). Honorary President Laurent Petitgirard (member of the Institute).
Supervised by professors from French and foreign conservatories, it is aimed both at students engaged in a professional career or preparing for international competitions, as well as at great amateurs and young motivated beginners.
The instruments and disciplines taught are piano, strings, wind instruments, singing, chamber music and improvisation, as well as piano-jazz and a jazz workshop. Trainees can participate in the orchestra of the academy and perform on the stage of the Auditorium. Many acting classes and auditions are open to the public.
At the end of the course, the Grand Prix de l'Académie are awarded by competition, sponsored by the Flainoise Association: piano-vocals / strings / winds. These Grands Prix include a financial endowment and commitment as a soloist for a concert.
Luthiers Laulhere and Chitto set up their workshop in Flaine for the duration of the academy.
Gestural posture courses are offered to musicians, professionals, students or amateurs.
The Flaine International Music Academy has AFDAS professional training accreditation.
It is produced with the support of the Syndicat Intercommunal de Flaine, the Center d'Art de Flaine, the Flaine Tourist Office, merchants from Flaine and Les Carroz.
